I have previously written a blog post about whether Revolut Ultra is worth it or not for Belgians where I had a fairly critical stance to Revolut. With several updates that Revolut has implemented in 2025, it may be interesting to consider Revolut as a miles-earning credit card. Read more about my analysis.
Whats new since 2025
Revolut has obtained the necessary license to issue Belgian IBANs, giving users local account numbers that start with “BE”. This change offers a substantial advantage: Belgian customers no longer need to notify the National Bank of Belgium (NBB) about holding a foreign account, nor do they need to declare a non-Belgian IBAN on annual tax filings.

Revolut also announced that starting from February 2026, they will add some subscriptions and increase the monthly rate.

Strengths of Revolut Belgium
Acceptancy of Mastercard
Because Revolut issues Mastercard cards, their acceptance in Belgium and across Europe is much higher compared to American Express, which—although offering some of the best premium travel credit cards on the Belgian market—still faces more limited acceptance at merchants.
Flexibility of RevPoints
Unlike American Express or other miles-earning credit cards in Belgium, the points or miles earned with Revolut have some distinct differences. While American Express traditionally offered a broad range of transfer partners for its Membership Rewards points, this network has been gradually shrinking. In contrast, Revolut’s RevPoints currency is flexible and can be converted to nearly all of the main airline loyalty programs, providing greater travel redemption flexibility. You can earn RevPoints for each euro you spend with the card. In addition, there are ways to boost your RevPoints earnings. For instance, some online shops offer multipliers (Condor, a German airline offers 10 RevPoints per euro spend) or by parking your money and to earn RevPoints as a form of interest.

No hidden costs
When compared to other credit cards in Belgium, Revolut stands out as the only card currently available that combines travel-related points earning, zero foreign exchange fees, and free ATM withdrawals up to €2,000 per month. This makes Revolut a pioneer in the Belgian credit card market for travelers.

Comprehensive analysis
Revolut Ultra Belgium costs €70 per month. Within this card type, a physical card is included. However, if you cancel Revolut Ultra within six months, Revolut may charge you for the physical card if ordered.

Although the steep monthly cost, Revolut Ultra contains a series of benefits and subscriptions. Below you can find a table with all the benefits and their estimated retail price as of 2025.
| Subscription | Estimated Monthly Value | Details/Usage in Belgium |
|---|---|---|
| Financial Times Premium Digital | €55 | Full access to FT content, market news, analysis |
| NordVPN Complete | €14,99 | Unrestricted browsing, privacy & security |
| WeWork (3 visits/month) | €120 | Office desk worldwide |
| ClassPass (20 credits) | €39 | Book fitness, wellness, sports at Belgian venues |
| Airport Lounge Access | €35 (1 visit per month) | DragonPass, unlimited entry |
| Travel Insurance | €25 | Medical, cancellation, rental car coverage |
| Headspace Premium, Sleep Cycle Premium, Headway Premium | €13, €5 and €12 | Meditation and sleep apps, fully accessible in BE, sleep analytics and actionable insights and tips from non-fiction bestsellers |
| MasterClass | €15 | Online courses and learning |
| Tinder Gold | €15 | Dating app premium tier |
| Perplexity AI Pro | €20 | Generative Artificial Intelligence Bot |
| Freeletics, The Athletic | €15 | Training applications for workouts |
| Picsart Gold | €6 | AI Image Editor |
| Chess.com | €5 | Chess Gaming platform |
| Global eSIM (5GB/month) | €15 | Data plan worldwide |
| Unlimited Fast Track at Airport | €12 (value per visit) | Brussels Airport & Charleroi Airport are included |
| Super Duolingo | €10 | Language training app gamified |
| Lovable | €20 | Website / App generator with AI |
Although all these benefits definitely surpass the monthly fee multiple times, the only consideration you should make is what these benefits are worth to you. For me personally, I value the majority of the subscriptions listed as negligible.
What I do value however is NordVPN, ClassPass, WeWork, Perplexity AI, Global eSIM, Super Duolingo and Fast Track.
My personal valuation
Global eSIM
5GB / Month worldwide: Thanks to this subscription I do not need to buy local sims or eSims when travelling internationally, saving me about 5-10 euro on average per month.

NordVPN
for security reasons it is important to use a VPN. In some countries it is even a necessity. I therefore value this subscription a conservative 5 euro on average per month.
ClassPass
20 Credits / Month is my favourite benefit of Revolut Ultra, because it allows me to do workouts in different places and even different countries. Because of this, I can rotate the use of these credits for gym access, bouldering and even healthy food. It therefore saves me a gym subscription of 25 euro on average per month.

WeWork
allows you to visit co-working spaces around the world up to 3 times a month. As I do not make use of this a lot, I value this only 5 euro per month.

Perplexity AI Pro
with the rise of AI, I occasionally use this subscription to ask for business ideas or ideas for travel content but the use is fairly limited. I value this 5 euro per month as well. It is however a great tool to help you plan your travels, look what places you can visit but free alternatives may suit your needs.
Unlimited Fast Track Passes
Although American Express Platinum also includes this benefit for 2 persons (to the complimentary cardholder), Revolut Ultra includes multiple airports over the world and not only Brussels Airport. As a frequent flyer status holder I usually have fast track access. However, this is ideal when I’m travelling with a friend. I value this 5 euro per month.
Super Duolingo
I use Duolingo so having this subscription included it could be worth the 10 euro per month.
Conclusion
The benefits such as DragonPass, insurance and Finance Times are together with all the other subscriptions a nice addition, but I do not really value them a lot. However, having this exclusive card allows me to earn RevPoints and to be able to do expenses in a foreign currency without paying ridiculous fees. The card is a great addition, however, if I don’t have the Revolut Ultra, I won’t pay for an AI model, Duolingo or Fast Track so for me personally, I wouldn’t keep the card.
Important considerations with Revolut Ultra Belgium
Revolut: Investing & Crypto for Belgians
While Revolut is standing out as pioneer of the banks to combine investing in stocks, crypto and banking, there are some important considerations to make. Revolut does not handle TOB (Taks op Beurs), meaning that you’ll have to take care of all the taxes yourself when buying or selling investment products. In addition, it is yet vague how Crypto should be treated from a fiscal perspective in Belgium.
Debit card – AML & KYC
Because of the nature of Revolut, the Ultra card is a debit Mastercard, meaning that when you sign up for a card, you become owner of a new IBAN. In comparison with Beobank cards or American Express cards, you’re linking your current, existing bank account to the card, while with Revolut, you have a new bank account and therefore all the bank regulations apply to your account.
This means that a new customer will have to prove to Revolut where money is coming from in case they audit your account. This is because Revolut has to comply to the existing AML/KYC (Anti-Money Laundering / Know Your Customer) rules from the EU. As a result, horror stories circulate on the internet of frozen funds on Revolut. Although it is rather rare, it is something to consider if you’re planning to deposit large amounts of funds on the bank account, if you’re considering “RevPoints Pockets”. This great feature allows you to earn interest in RevPoints on your stored funds (e.g. 270 000 RevPoints for 100.000 euro) but comes with this risk of a (temporary) lock.

Bonuses and Benefits
While Revolut stands out as a unique product for Belgians, we conclude that collecting RevPoints cannot be compared with other products on the market, such as American Express Platinum:
- An American Express card has generous sign-up bonuses from time to time
- Upgrading your American Express card may as well trigger upgrade bonus points during certain campaigns
- With the Membership Rewards Booster, you earn 4 American Express points on all your expenses, which is far higher return from the 1:1 earning ratio from Revolut
Now that the card has surpassed the monthly cost of the American Express Platinum, I am certain that the AMEX is still the winner as it offers more generous lounge access policies and sign-up bonuses.

Just like any card in the Belgian market, devaluations of perks and benefits are always around the corner. Because so many subscriptions are included in the Revolut card, it means that there is more risk in contract changes with those individual companies. If you value a subscription as a big value, the disappointment factor may be much greater if it gets delisted as benefit for Ultra card holders or if the subscription itself changes. For example, I value ClassPass fairly high as benefit. However, ClassPass ended his partnership with BasicFit, meaning that from 2026, I cannot use ClassPass credits to visit BasicFit gyms and therefore, the card and its benefits loses value. The more subscriptions you rely on the higher the chance individual subscriptions change their partnership or benefits.
Where Revolut Ultra Belgium could improve
While I do believe Revolut Ultra is a unique product, I still see a lot of potential improvement points for Revolut to consider.
Lounge benefit
Now that the monthly cost has surpassed the American Express Platinum, I am surprised to see that a “lifestyle travel card” does only contain a DragonPass for 1 person (the card owner) and not for any guest included.
Amount of subscriptions
In my opinion, the large list of subscriptions may come over as overwhelming. Revolut could consider to give members the choice of a certain amount of subscriptions they can activate as part of their card plan. This way they could track which subscriptions are the most meaningful for their Ultra members so that they do everything to keep this collaboration.
Boosting RevPoints
RevPoints Boosts is a great way to amplify your earnings (e.g. shopping at X, Y or Z earns 20 RevPoints per euro). However, for a card with such high fee, I would expect to earn some kind of “Signup bonus” to motivate the customer or at least, more Boost options or collaborations with products.
Administration of investing
Last but not least, if Revolut wants to attract real investors, they may look into the administration needed to automate fiscal obligations for the customer, such as paying dividend tax or TOB (Taks op Beurs), which most of Belgian brokers do.
